My Latest WIP

Hey there, Stitchy Peeps!

Thank you for the well-wishes, my lovely bloggy friends! I am happy to report that I am feeling much better. :) Tired, but not ill. I haven't done as much stitching as I usually do as a result of my aforementioned tiredness, but here is a little sneak peek of my latest project:

wip

(Pattern by Annie Oakleaves.)

I worked on this the other night while watching Pretty in Pink. Do you love that movie, or what? Does anyone else disagree with her decision in the end? Ugh. I can't talk about it. It makes me too upset. ;)

Anywho...

If my sleepiness doesn't take over, I will be working on (and hopefully finishing) this project tonight. Maybe I will watch The Parent Trap. And no, not the new Lindsay Lohan version. I am talkin' about the old school, totally awesome Hayley Mills version. (The good version!)

So, stay tuned for pictures of a soon-to-be-finished piece of embroidery. Hopefully I can deliver that to you very soon. Until then...

Happy Stitching!

Loving the WIP...and have always loved the original Parent Trap. When I was little I could recite almost the entire movie. (I could probably still do a good portion!)

Pretty! (And I like the rad little poster/mosaic goodness for this pic too, btw. The individual pics are always fabulous, but I'm really digging the mosaic tonight!)

You know, I can't even remember the ending of Pretty in Pink. I know I've seen it--maybe not the whole thing, but I imagine I've seen the end if nothing else--but I can't keep it straight from the end of 16 Candles.

My mom gave me the nowhere-near-as-good-as-the-original TPT (along with Mulan, for some reason) one Valentine's Day when I was in college. Why she picked those two movies, I couldn't say, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually quite cute. It can't touch The One and Only Original, of course...but I did think it was better than Parent Trap 2...or 3...or however many there were with Hayley Mills as adults (with those triplets--remember??). Then again, TPT was the only movie I've ever liked with Lindsay Lohan...you know, back in the "good ol' days" when she still had natural red hair, was a kid, and wasn't a trainwreck. Too bad she had to keep making more movies; she shoulda stopped after the first. ;o)

Glad you're feeling better, chica! Love the black outline around the petals too, btw! Mwa!

Hi,
I really like the way this work is developing. The charm of the design is echoed in the simplicity of the stitches. I can see it will be lovely when it's done.

Don't have much of an opinion on Pretty In Pink, although I'm glad that Jon Cryer got back on the tv with Two and a Half Men.

I love pretty in pink. I am a sucker for a john hughes movie most days. She shoule have went with ducky, but andrew mccarthy was cute.. Did you do a raised satin stitch here? It looks like it. Great job so far and rest up!

Wow, everyone! Thank you so much for your kind words. :)

my 1st bambina!--Most of these get sent to Annie Oakleaves. Some I put in frames, and some are waiting in the closet...I am hoping to get a sewing machine (and some sewing skills, lol) so I can create something dazzling. ;)

kathleen aka coffee mom--Thank you so much! :) ♥

mollie--Lol, me too! I watched it every day one summer when I was 12 or 13. I would rewind certain parts and watch them over and over and over...

ccw--I did like the remake the first time I saw it. Not so much anymore, though. And yeah, that triplet movie was a summer staple of ours one year, wasn't it? Maybe when we were 14?? I recall liking that one a lot.

mr. x stitch--Thank you kindly so much. :) And yeah, I am glad about Jon Cryer being on TV, I love Two and a Half Men!

mia--Thank you so much. I saw your redwork on Flickr, and it is gorgeous. :):)

sewitsforyou--I did a satin stitch inside the outline of each petal using 6 strand of floss. I didn't make it raised on purpose, but it looks like it, huh? WAY COOL. :):)

miss paula--Yay! You will LOVE your Q-snaps.

elizabeth--Thanks! :) The end of the movie(SPOLIER ALERT, PEOPLE! LOOK AWAY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW!) was a disappointment to me because I thought she should've gone with Duckie (Jon Cryer) instead of Blane (Andrew McCarthy.)
