I decided it was time to branch out and try something new: one-over-one stitching.
Oh my. Am I crazy? These are some seriously small stitches. (This is 28-ct evenweave.)
That's the beginning of a little house. A very little house. See the tiny window?
Wish me luck. Also, let's hope my eyesight can withstand this new adventure. ;)
Happy New Year. Great start. I would have to say you are crazy but in a nice way.
ReplyDeleteYou go right ahead! I'll leave the teeny tiny stitching to you youngsters!
ReplyDeleteGood, luck, which you do not need because of your mad skills.
ReplyDeleteI want to try that this year, too, Kristi!
ReplyDeleteI'd read that for one-over-one, it's best to make each "x" in full rather than doing a row of half stitches at a time, to help prevent the stitches from sinking into the fabric. Do you have any other tips?
Aw, shucks! Thank you, friends.
ReplyDeleteGlenda, thank you for the tip! I will do full x's from now on. I don't have any tips, but if I learn of any I will pass them on. :)
Sounds great; thanks :-). I look forward to seeing the end result and hearing what you thought of one-over-one.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your tiny tiny house!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with one over one! When I do that, it seems to take so much longer than it should, because it is twice as much stitching to cover the same area as stitching over two. I had to buy magnifying glasses to wear with my last project that had one over one stitching. I'm getting old!!
