Me+Onesies=Procrastination

Hey there, Stitchy Peeps!

I don't what it is about onesies that makes me wait until the very last minute to stitch them.

four more

See these? Notice how not one single stitch has been made? I ironed on the transfers a few hours ago...but I still haven't started stitching. Which wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have to have these done by this Saturday.

Yup, that's right. The shower is this Saturday and I've barely started the onesies.

I'm not too worried, though. I've done this before, and the results were fabulous, if I do say so myself. ;)

So stay tuned, darlings, for I shall return within the next couple days with pictures of completed onesies. Until then...

Happy Stitching!

Hahahaha Kristi, I hear you there. I have four friends with babies due between October and December, and I'm making each a quilt and stitching a onesie. Oh, and somewhere in there I have to also celebrate my anniversary, birthday, Halloween (making my own Wonder Woman costume), Thanksgiving, and Christmas. But there's nothing like pressure, right?? ;)

XOXO

These are so cute! I saw the finished onsies on flickr and wanted to ask you a couple questions. I have several showers to go to and started making one of these but it looks horrible so i ripped it out! Do you use a stabilizer behind the fabric? Mine is very thin and see through and shows the stitches... maybe different brand onse is thicker. Also how many threads do you use?
Thanks so much for any advice you can pass along...I am new to embroidery and love it but having a few learning curves I guess.. Your work is really good:)

Hey Jude, thank you. :) I seldom use stabilizer simply because I am not fond of it, even though it is helpful on t-shirts and such. When it comes to onesies, I buy Gerber organic; I have found that they are pretty stable on their own and don't really require the stabilizer.

I generally tend to use 6 strands of floss on onesies, sometimes reducing it to 4 or less strands on small details.

I hope that helps.

That helps a lot Kristi thanks so much. I think the cheaper onsie's I picked up for this project made a big difference in the outcome. Will try the Organic Gerber.

Cheers,
Jude
